My journey began in my late teens during the early 90's recession. My family lost our home and I found myself sofa surfing, moving from place to place, each sofa becoming a temporary refuge.
Those years were incredibly destabilising, leading to deep financial instability and affecting my health.
During those challenging times, I craved a solid foundation, which led me down the path of self development. I realised that to change my circumstances, I had to start with myself. So, I did the work. I became obsessed with getting my health and life back in track, embarking on a deep journey os self-self-descovery.
On this journey, I met some incredible mentors. Ramish Patel, who ran a vegetarian Indian restaurant off Tottenham Court Road in London, taught me yoga, meditation, and how to start loving myself again.
Ian McDermott, through his NLP Practitioner Training course, gave me the resources and confidence to heal and ask myself, “What do I want?”
I started to get my life in order. I was working for one of the most famous fashion photographers in the world, living in a great flat in Battersea, and slowly healing my health through several operations.
I thought I had it all figured out.
But within six months, everything came crashing down. I nearly died, ended up in hospital, lost my job, and found myself £20k in debt.
I was broken.
Then, one day on a packed tube train, reading Eckhart Tolle’s "The Power of Now,"
I had a profound experience of love and peace that changed everything. It sent me on a mission to find out if it was possible to live this way permanently. I spent the next two years interviewing people and finding a new way to be in the world.
You can watch the film I made about this on the website.
It’s called Waking Up.
Through dedication and perseverance, I eventually found security in a healthy relationship, a corporate job, and a lovely home.
But something was still missing. I had a calling to help others and share the knowledge I’ve gained over the past 30 years.
This is how Coaching with Toby was born.
I’m here to help humans facing the challenges of modern life—figuring out how to pay the bills, be more present, love their spouse, give their kids an amazing life, stay in shape, eat healthier, save money, cut the grass, pay for holidays,
and not go insane!
If you’re a human aged 35 to 55 who feels a bit lost and thinks there must be more to life, I invite you to join a community of like-minded humans.
Together, we can build a solid foundation for your future.
I offer one-on-one coaching both online and offline and run a retreat in Bali every year with my wife Dipti.
Thank you for visiting my site.
